How to retire young and rich

Mortgage Rates

The fifth and final book from Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki is likely to hit a soft spot with New Zealanders and appeal to people looking at property investment.

The book, Retire Rich Retire Young, is focused on leverage, while his earlier books, which include best-seller Rich Dad Poor Dad, were primarily focussed on the power of cashflow.

Retire Young Retire Rich, which is subtitled 'How to get rich quickly and stay rich forever', is written in the folksy style Kiyosaki has used so well before.

It's one of those books which is likely to be well-received by New Zealanders as it doesn't advocate or preach the so-called modern portfolio theory of investing where you diversify all your investments across the four asset classes, shares, property, bonds and cash.

This book is more about explaining how, in Kiyosaki's words, you need to leverage your mind, your plan and your actions to get rich.

He says it's as much an educational book as a practical one.

"It explains why some people are rich and why others are poor even though we all have the power and potential to be very rich and retire young," he says.

Retire Young Retire Rich can be bought online through specialist money management bookstore Good Returns at www.goodreturns.co.nz/books.
