In rates news today, Credit Union Baywide has upped its two and three-year fixed home loan rates by 10 and 24  basis points to 6.35% and 6.99% respectively.

Our stories online today start off with Westpac New Zealand's March quarter net profit fell 75% as charges for bad loans soared but its mortgage lending rose strongly and the key issue economists are talking about this week are the poor GDP numbers from last week which show the New Zealand economy is deep in the grips of a recession.  Click here for more.
